As seasons change, so do styles. While fashion is a reflection of your personality and individuality, it’s good to be in on the trends and fits, so you can walk out in style, in all weather.
No one knows SA fashion better than Adelaide’s beloved personal stylist, Bec Lenthall. She’s the Myer Centre’s resident certified personal stylist and colour consultant.

Winter fashion trends 2025
We chatted with Bec about what’s happening in with SA style this winter, to help inspire your next shopping session.
What trends do you tend to see in the winter?
People are much more intentional about what they buy. It’s that mix of wanting to stay warm but still feel like yourself in your clothes. I’m seeing a real shift away from just wearing black, with more people open to adding colour and texture, even in small ways.
There’s a growing interest in pieces that feel elevated but still easy to wear. – think cosy knits, longline coats, boots, and layers you can style different ways.
Are people shopping more or less in winter?
It depends on how confident someone feels with their wardrobe. If they’re not sure what works for them, they tend to shop more but often end up with pieces they don’t wear.
I’m seeing more and more people slow down and want to shop intentionally. They’re not necessarily buying more, they’re buying better. This means looking for pieces that mix and match easily, suit their lifestyle, and help them feel like themselves again.
How would you describe South Australia’s winter style?
It’s practical, relaxed, and evolving. We love comfort, but we’re also seeing a gentle shift toward more polished, even for everyday. I’m seeing more clients reach for texture, warmth, and personality.
They’re layering pieces in their colours, styling boots in a new way, or trying a fresh shape in coats and knits. SA winter style is definitely about ease, but more women are also wanting to enjoy getting dressed again.
What’s in this season? What trend surprises you the most?
We’re seeing beautiful earthy tones, rich chocolate, burgundy’s, deep olive greens and beautiful blues. Suede has also made a huge comeback in clothing, shoes, and accessories this winter. Wide-leg pants, oversized blazers, and textured garments are all having a moment.
One thing that’s surprised me this season is how many people are leaning into bolder accessories, whether it’s a fun boot, jewellery or an unexpected pop of colour. There’s a bit more confidence coming through, which I love to see.
Why should someone work with a personal stylist?
Working with a stylist isn’t about changing who you are, it’s about discovering what feels good, true, and right for you. I work with a lot of women who feel like they’ve lost their way with style. Their body shape may have changed, they’re going through big life shifts, or their wardrobe isn’t working for them. They’re tired of feeling stuck and frustrated every time they get dressed.
Together, we simplify things. I help you understand what suits you, what reflects your personality, and how to build a wardrobe that makes getting dressed feel easy again. It’s not about chasing trends, it’s about creating a style that feels aligned, effortless, and yours.
